Despite some frigid spring temperatures, Nassau Community College’s annual Clean Up with Covanta was a tremendous success. Covanta Hempstead sponsored the event and supplied bags, grabbers and gloves for the participants. Students from the engineering department along with their professors came out to help clean up litter from local roadways, with more than 25 extra-large trash bags returned to the Hempstead facility and turned into energy.
