Covanta Camden hosted students from the Camden Urban Trekkers program and gave them a tour so they could see firsthand how the facility turns trash into energy that is then fed back into homes and businesses. After the tour, the students enjoyed a BBQ with members of the facility.
The Urban Trekkers organization is an outdoor, hands-on, up-close learning and mentoring program, where the world is their classroom. Students get to learn from new experiences by visiting places they normally wouldn’t go to in their everyday lives.
