Covanta Union celebrated Earth Day on Squire’s Island, where facility and corporate employees; Mayor Giacobbe; City Council Members David Brown and Joanna Miles; DPW Director Michael Smalling; Staff Sargent John; Rahway High School Junior ROTC; local business owners; and nearby residents cleaned the park, neighboring houses, and the community garden at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church.
Both the Mayor and neighbors thanked Covanta for making our presence felt in the community and hoped that we will come back soon.
