On Earth Day Covanta Essex participated in the City of Newark’s Slam Dunk the Junk. A team of employees gathered to clean and prepare Westside Salvation Army for spring. Executive Director, Nemin Jaya, expressed his gratitude for Covanta’s servitude.
Covanta was also one of the sponsors and vendors of the Essex County Environmental Center’s Earth Day Celebration. Our reusable bags were given to families just ahead of the May 4th plastic bag ban. Participants were excited to learn more about Covanta while their children were engaged by the Mad Science Exhibit.
