A flag retirement ceremony was held at the American Legion Post 177 in Fairfax, Virginia. Post 177 collects flags from Fairfax County municipalities and residents, where they are then delivered to Covanta Fairfax for honorable destruction. At the event, the Mayor of Fairfax David Meyer spoke about the importance of the American Legion’s flag retirement program, and the services that Covanta provides.
