Covanta’s Long Island facilities (Covanta Babylon, Covanta Hempstead, Covanta Huntington and Covanta MacArthur) sponsored the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless Backpack Pirates Day. This one-day camp experience for homeless youth on Long Island provided a fun-filled summer memory. Children spent the day at camp, enjoying breakfast and lunch provided by Covanta along with a supply-filled backpack at the end of the day.
