Reworld™ participated in the Earth Day celebration at Alexandria City Public Schools John Adams Elementary and Early Childhood Learning Center for their Native Roots Landscaping Initiative. This initiative was in collaboration with the Master Gardeners from the Virginia Cooperative Extension and the City of Alexandria, Virginia Beautification Commission.
The event was an engaging outdoor experience filled with educational activities. It provided students with a practical learning opportunity to understand the significance of native species and their ecological roles. By planting native plants, we contribute to local biodiversity, establish habitats for pollinators, and enhance the environmental health of both the school and the community.
This event exemplified the collaborative efforts of schools, local organizations, and community members in making a substantial environmental impact. Highlights included leading a literature circle to educate students about various native trees and participating in a Sidewalk Art activity, which was both educational and reminiscent of childhood games. The day focused on education, enjoyment, and fostering a foundation for a more sustainable future.
