Honoring Freedom. Celebrating Unity. The City of Huntington, NY gathered for its second annual Juneteenth Celebration at Centennial Park. A day marked by history, reflection, and a strong sense of community. Lufkin City Councilwoman Angela Hobbs-Spencer delivered an inspiring keynote, reminding us: “Each of us are able to stand on the foundations that were built with the hands and sweat of our forefathers. We are free today because others have paid the cost.”
We were also proud to serve as a lead sponsor for the vibrant Juneteenth celebration at the Tanner Park Bandshell in Copiague, NY, hosted by the Town of Babylon and organized by One Long Island Clergy. The energy was incredible—festivities included a basketball tournament for all ages, live performances, local vendors, food trucks, a kids’ zone, line dancing, and more, offering something for everyone. Bobby Green, our Hempstead Facility Manager, and I had the honor of attending and sharing a few words. The community’s warm reception truly moved us, and we appreciated the chance to participate in such a meaningful gathering. The event saw strong support from local leaders, including Town Supervisor Rich Schaffer, NYS Assemblymember Kwani O'Pharrow, and Town Council members.
