Covanta Hempstead provided a helping hand to the The Walkabout Residence with a donation in the form of a fresh, home-cooked holiday meal! The Walkabout Residence is a transitional house located in Freeport, NY, which provides homeless adolescents and young adults a safe space in which to prepare for independent living in the community. Pictured below are some of the residents before they sat down to enjoy the food donated from the facility. Helping young people find their way is an important part of maintaining a community’s vitality, and something Covanta Hempstead is proud to support.
