Long Island Facilities Recognized by Local Vets

Covanta Long Island Veterans Service Recognition

Covanta’s four Long Island facilities (Covanta Babylon, Covanta Hempstead, Covanta Huntington and Covanta MacArthur) were jointly recognized for their efforts to the support the Island’s veterans by the Nassau County Veterans Advisory Committee. On behalf of the facilities, Community Affairs Specialist Maureen Early is pictured below accepting the recognition at the committee’s May meeting.

Maureen and her colleagues have been relentless in their support of local veterans, holding events around the holidays to provide free meals and clothing, as well as continuing a partnership with and sponsoring a U.S. flag retirement program that has been replicated in several other Covanta facilities.
