The first ever Green Star Outreach awards were recently handed out to deserving Covanta facilities and employees! The Green Star Awards recognize Covanta facilities and employees for exemplary efforts to educate and support our local communities and organizations. Covanta Haverhill was a recipient of the inaugural Green Star award for Community Response.
Led by Asset Manager Mark VanWeelden (above - far left, accepting a Business of the Year award), the Haverhill facility maintained a wide variety of outreach efforts to help boost the local community in 2020. From helping local families enjoy a Thanksgiving meal, to lighting up the holiday star in the spirit of hope amidst the first wave of the pandemic in March, the facility helped local schools, organizations and municipalities all year long.
