Reworld™ Hosts Wyandanch First Precinct PAL Summer Camp Program
August 7, 2025

Reworld™ Hempstead welcomed the Wyandanch First Precinct PAL Summer Camp Program for a day of interactive learning.
Ten children and seven officers toured our facility to see how waste is managed, participated in hands-on environmental lessons, and learned about recycling, composting, and marine protection. The group toured our Thermomechanical Treatment Facility and gained valuable insight into the work we do at Reworld™. Through interactive learning, the children explored the importance of environmental stewardship, impressing us all with their curiosity and thoughtful questions throughout the visit. The campers capped off their experience by creating sea-themed stencil art, deepening their understanding of sustainability.
To keep everyone energized, breakfast and lunch were provided. And at the end of the day, each child received a backpack filled with school supplies to help them start the new school year strong. The day was topped off with a surprise visit from Mr. Softee! One young camper summed it up best, declaring it was “the best day ever.”
At Reworld™, we’re proud to play a part in fostering positive, educational experiences for local youth and inspiring hope for a brighter, more sustainable future.
A big thank-you to the Reworld Hempstead staff for helping ensure the children had a memorable experience and left with a deeper understanding of how waste is managed right here on Long Island.
