Reworld™ was proud to sponsor this year's Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at Hofstra University. Held in partnership with the Village of Hempstead, this annual parade and ceremony marked the 33rd Annual MLK Day march and celebration and brought the community together in a powerful spirit of service and unity.
This year’s theme, “Building the Beloved Community: Walking Together Across Generations,” highlighted the importance of collective action, learning from one another, and continuing Dr. King’s vision of justice, equity, and mutual respect. We were honored to hear from Congresswoman Laura Gillen, keynote speaker Barbara Powell, President of the NAACP Hempstead Branch, as well as remarks from Hofstra University President Dr. Susan Poser and Hempstead Mayor Waylyn Hobbs. The event also featured inspiring performances by the Academy Charter School Dancers, the Hempstead High School Dance Squad, and other talented performers.
